The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has drawn the public to activities of scammers as well as fake employment merchants and racketeers that opens fake employment websites and issue fake employment letter purporting to be acting on behalf of the commission. This was disclosed in a statement by National commissioner and chairman, Information and voter education committee, Festus Okoye Esq, revealing that such adverts are false, and intended at luring and duping unsuspecting members of the public. The Commission stated that it is not in association with these scammers, noting that its recruitment portal is no longer active and was shut down when the commission suspended it's recruitment exercise. INEC added that it would continue to conduct it's activities in the best tradition of openness and transparency, advising the public to disregard all rumours of recruitment by the Commission and treat letters of employment/recriutment purportedly emanating from the Commission as a scam.
