Speaking with troops of 2 division Nigerian Army at the Adekunle Fajuyi cantonment parade ground, Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya charged them to always exhibit professionalism, competence and gallantry in the conduct of military operations. This was disclosed by Director army public relations officer, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, stating that COAS Yahaya urged the troops to deploy their competency, skill and experience in the fight against terrorism, banditry and other crimes in the country. He called on officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers (SNCOS) to lead by good example, adding that there would be reward for gallantry, professional conduct and excellence. He, however, stressed that he will not hesitate to punish those who protray the army in bad light. The COAS stated that the military would provide all necessary requirement for personnel to progress and aspire to any higher rank through training, welfare and enabling environment, conducive for troops and their families. He assured that vehicle and tied down accommodation will be provided for Regimental Sergent Majors (RSM) at formation and unit levels to enhance productivity. In addition, General Yahaya commissioned an indoor sports hall at Maj. Gen. John Mark Inienger sports complex, to be named after Late General Ibrahim Attahiru and the administrative block at the Tiger Mini Estate, Alapata, Ibadan. The COAS presented a brand new Toyota Hilux as an official vehicle to the Division's Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), Army Warrant Officer Samuel Odeh. General Yahaya paid visit to Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso 1, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land.
