The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has launched a gender policy that seeks to promote a positive action for the advancement of women in the corps. The Corps stated that the action is to protect them against all gender imbalances. Honorable Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola noted that this policy will allow the women folk in the Corps to be able to fill all the ranks and make them relevant even to aspire the rank of the commandant general.
