Edo state government disclose plan to establish college of nursing sciences

Governor of Edo state, H. E. Godwin Obaseki has disclosed that his administration is planning on establishing a college of nursing sciences in the state.

He stated this during a courtesy visit by members of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, led by its secretary general, Dr. Faruk Abubakar, saying,

For Edo to become a medical hub, our standard here has to be higher than the national standard. With post-COVID-19, travelling has become more of a challenge; so the standard we adopt locally has to be the same standard obtainable abroad. Nobody can do it for us; we have to do it ourselves.

The governor stated that for there to be an upgrade in the school of nursing, they would have to withdraw the bill presently in the House of Assembly, so that an amendment can be made to give them the flexibility to do more with the institution.

Speaking, Dr. Faruk commended the governor for it's effort towads the health sector, which has positively impacted the lives of the citizens.
