Akwa-Ibom state government has stated that the Ikot Oku Ikono flyover and it's environ will be closed to human and vehicular traffic from 6am Wednesday, July 14, 2021 till 3pm Friday, July 16, 2021. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Honorable commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, stating the closure was approved by the state Governor Udom Emmanuel, so as to allow contractors prepare the site for inauguration. It advised the general public to take alternative routes as security agencies will be on ground to enforce this order, adding that the inconveniences arising from this action are sincerely regretted.
