Following the ban on operations of commercial motorcycles in Minna metropolis, Commissioner of Transport, Rahmatu Mohammed Yar'adua has directed the deployment of buses for township services. This was revealed in a statement signed by Santali Idris. It revealed that NSTA vehicles commenced township services on Saturday 5th May, 2021, adding that vehicles will leave from: Mobil to Chanchaga, Mobil to Tudun Fulani, City gate round-about to Dutsen Kura junction, Kpakungu to Talba Estate and Mobil to Maitunbi at a subsidized rate. The designated bus stop for ease of operation, includes: The commissioner stated that this measure was taken in the interim before the conclusion of modalities for the provision of permanent alternatives, adding that the stops are also temporary and will be evolving in line with emerging trends as operation continues. Also, she urged the people and residents of Niger state to be patient as government seeks to fast track the process of mitigating the temporary inconveniences being experienced.
