Governor of Kaduna state, H. E. Nasir El-rufai has paid visit to communities affected by bandit attacks around the kaduna-Abuja road in Chikun LGA, assuring them that they are committed to the security of lives and properties. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, kaduna state. The governor, who was received by the Force Commander (Operation Thunder Strike), Lt Col. MH Abdullahi, was briefed on the security situation in the general area and the barricading of the road by citizens following the bandit attacks. After ensuring accelerated flow of traffic, Governor Nasir held a meeting at Kakkau community which was attended by the village head, Mr. Iliya Garba Zarmai and members of the community, where he condoled the communities over citizens that were killed within the last one week. He stated that the government is aware of their plights, as conveyed in the daily security reports from action agencies, and assured them that they are working resolutely with security agencies in addressing the menace. Also, Governor Nasir warned against the blocking of roads, describing it as a practice which detriments the activities of innocent citizens whose movement were forced to a halt. He added that such actions would offer no solution, but only create panic and further breakdown of law and order.
