Governor of Bauchi state, H. E. Bala Mohammed has launched the Kaura Economic Empowerment Program (KEEP) to distribute cash, business starter packs and motorcycles to beneficiaries at Zaki and Gamawa local government areas in the state. He disclosed that his administration budgeted N1.5 billion naira for the empowerment program to cater for all twenty local government areas of the state. According to the governor, "The core purpose of the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) is to empower all beneficiaries to be self-reliant. Human capital is key to progress; hence my administration will continue to do more to improve the well-being of the state's citizens through education, heath-care and infrastructure."
