Governor of Borno state, H. E. Umaru Zulum has met with security operatives to commence the reopening of farmlands along Mulai and Dalwa axis so as to avoid livelihoods crisis. This was in compliance with directive to the Nigerian military and other security agencies by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying, I have directed the Theater Command of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies to work out modalities together with Borno state government and associations of farmers, on way to increase safe access by farmers to their farms, forests and fishing grounds. Assessing the farmlands and interacting with the security operatives, Governor Zulum said that the state has to develop resilience, and cannot sit down without a means of livelihood, adding that he will establish a personal farmland along the axis which he will visit on work free days. While addressing residents if Molai along Maiduguri -Damboa highway, he called on farmers to resume their agricultural activities.
