Another Fire: Lagos fire service prevents fire disaster at Malo petrol station

Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has prevented another disaster as they put out the fire that gutted Malo petrol, Imota to the premises of the Station. 


This was revealed by the Director, LSFRS, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, who explained that the agency receives a distress call at 1843 hrs that Malo petrol station in Ikorodu-Epe expressway, Imota LCDA was in flame. 


She stated that immediately two fire stations were mobilized to put out the fire, adding that on arrival of the scene it was discovered that a petrol tanker servicing the petrol station caught fire which subsequently extended to the station. 


Mrs. Adeseye disclosed that the fire was caused by electrical faults which developed while the tanker laden with 45,000 litres fuel was discharging its content into an underground tank. 


She said that with joint efforts of the federal fire service and Nigerian police force, the fire was put out.
