Colombian singer, Shakira Mebarak, professionally known as Shakira has cried out to the government of her country to stop the violation of human rights and restore the value of human life above any political interest. She stated via her social media channel, saying that it is unacceptable on the nature of violence happening and the death of peaceful protesters. In her words, "It's unacceptable for a mother to lose her only child to brutality, and have 18 other people taken their lives in a peaceful protest. "Bullets can never silence the voice of the suffering, and it becomes imperative that we are not deaf to the cry of ours. "I ask the government of my country to take urgent action, STOP the violation of human rights and restore the value of human life above any political interest."
