Following the attacks on police personnels in Rivers state, Governor Nyesom Wike, who presided over an emergency meeting of the state's security council, condemned the attack by unknown gunmen on some police formations. He stated that no amount of intimidation or cruel resort to barbaric attacks will make the state succumb to seccessionist agenda of those who are bent on pushing Nigeria into another unwarranted crisis. Expressing his condolences, the governor said that on behalf of the government of Rivers state, he offers his heartfelt condolences to the families and Rivers state police command. While urging state's resident to remain calm, Governor Wike charged them to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement or person to security agents.
