Governor of Rivers state, H. E. Nyesom Wike has commisserated with the police force over the loss of their men in recent weeks. He described the incident as sad and unfortunate, as the state lost its security operatives to cold blooded murderers, adding that the policemen did no wrong but were killed in the line of their duties. "The State Government has decided to support the berieved families with twenty million Naira each. There is no amount of money that can be equated to life but as a state we would always identify with security personnel who lose their lives in course of doing their job," the governor said. While restating that Rivers state will not be part of any seccessionist movement, Governor Wike said that his administration is committed now more than ever to give the police all the support it needs to overcome this challenge.
