Governor of Lagos state, H. E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received at his residence, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ambassador (Prof.) George Obiozor and other Igbo elders and leaders. The visit was to assure the state of their continued cooperation and cordial relationship, and to backdrop rumoured plans by some groups to attack the state. Prof. Obiozor stated that Igbos are known for being an agent for development and not destruction or violence, and therefore cannot indulge in any act will harm the peace of the country. According to him, “Ndigbo cannot indulge in any act that will harm the harmonious peace and cordial relationship between Igbo and Yoruba, especially Lagos”, which he described as second home of several Ndigbo. Governor Sanwo-Olu said that the state will continue to provide good governance, ensure security of lives and properties of all residents, and would continue to foster harmonious relationships with all the different tribes and ethic nationalities in the state.
