Governor of Niger state, H. E. Sani Bello has confirmed that there are Boko Haram elements in the state, around Kaure, stating the terrorists have hoisted their flag in Kaure, which means they have taken over the territory. He said that he has been working with the federal government on how to control their situation, but with the recent action of the group, if care is not taken not even Abuja is safe. Governor Bello disclosed this while on visit to over 3000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Shiroro and Munya local government areas taking refuge in Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) primary school Minna. According to him, "They have taken over the territory, they have installed their flag. I am confirming that now. They have taken over the wives of people by force. "Boko Haram elements are trying to use these areas as their home just like they did in Sambisa." The governor stressed that the situation calls for collective efforts by all and sundry pointing out that government has been taking steps and will not relent in its efforts to curb the situation. He stated that though he hasn't lost hope in the federal government, he will not wait for anyone anymore, adding that the time has come to see reasons for a coordinated military action to take place.
