NAPTIP reunites family with daughter trafficked 20 years ago

It was an emotional moment in the life of Idu Uruan people in Akwa Ibom state as the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) reunited a family with their daughter  who was trafficked twenty years ago at the age of 6.


The victim was rescued, rehabilitated, empowered and reunited with her family by NAPTIP in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). 




It was revealed that after a thorough search of the victim for twenty years, but to no avail, the family and community mourned ANS forgot all about her. The victim was rescued by NAPTIP in Edo state. 


At the reunion, Zonal commander NAPTIP Benin zonal command, Mrs. Ijeoma Esther Uduak restated the Director General, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim commitment in stamping out human trafficking, exploitation and abuse of children. 


DG Imman called on everyone to partner with the Agency to ensure human trafficking free nation. 




Expressing gratitude, Village Head of Idu Uruan, Etenyin Obong Godwin Okoho thanked President Buhari, the Director General of NAPTIP and the entire management of the Agency.
