Minister of Power, Hon. Engr. Sale Mamman has disclosed that the ministry is embarking on a program to electrify 200 Primary Health Centers (PHC) and all 104 Unity schools in the country. While stating that the program will provide solar powered street lights to the immediate communities of the PHCs and within the environment of the schools, The minister said that the cause for this program was to revolutionize and ease the learning process in the schools and facilitate uninterrupted healthcare services to the rural communities. According to him, "The lightening programme is expected to enhance the security arrangements around the schools." Engr. Mamman said that program which is being g handled by REA NIGERIA is envisaged to create jobs and provide energy access to the unserved and underserved communities across all the geo-political zones under the federal government's plan to achieve 30% renewable energy sources by 2030.
