Simi has apologized for her previous tweet, stating that usage of 'E choke' was just a slang and not to shade. She said that she love Davido and Wizkid, and it never occurred to her that the tweet would be understood in that way. In her words, "Loool ffs I LOVE David and I LOVE Wiz. I was celebrating the winners and used the slang just as a SLANG. A friend said to remove it cos fans thought it was shade and so I did. It didn't even occur to me at allll." The singer stated that she has no reason what so ever to shade either of them. She said, "What would be the point of me shading either of them? To what end?"
