Governor of Lagos, H. E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has paid tributes to late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, who died last month at 91.
To immortalise him, he announced the establishment of The Lateef Jakande Leadership and Fellowship Academy which will be supported by an enabling Act of the State House of Assembly.
He said,
Alhaji Jakande’s tenure as Governor of Lagos will continue to be remembered by generations as a reference point in good governance, welfarism, visionary leadership, selflessness, transformational leadership and leadership by example.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said that Jakande died a happy and fulfilled man because he was able to witness the progress that successive civilian administrations made with regards to actualising the Lagos of his dream. The highest honour we can pay him is to continue to strive to live up to his ideals.
