Governor of Edo state, H. E. Godwin Obaseki has stated that the judgement by the Appeal court sitting in Abuja on the certificate forgery case against him by the All Progressive Congress (APC) is a victory. He said, "The judgement today by the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on the certificate forgery case against me by the APC is a victory for democracy, equity, fairness and justice. It further reassures confidence in the judiciary as an impartial umpire." While commending the judiciary for holding the truth and the verdict of Edo people, Governor Obaseki said that from the beginning, it was a known fact by the people of Edo state that there was no merit in the case because it was ill-willed.
