Nigerian author, Ayo Sogunro has blasted those who believe that being verified on twitter means that the person is sensible, famous, interesting, intelligent, and even worth following.
According to him, if you truly though so and you are later disappointed, maybe it's you that really lacks sense. Sogunro explained that the white tick on twitter is just a form of identification, and such person is who their twitter account claims to be. In regards to his own case, he said, "I am the same Ayo Sogunro who wrote the literary books by Ayo Sogunro. Which is why I am always baffled when people attack my tweets with reference to the white tick. Like, Bro, how is an ID card relevant to the issue?"
