EFCC boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa hands over Lagos zonal office to Taufiq Sabir


The Executive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has handed the leadership of the commission's Lagos zonal office to Taufiq Sabir.

Bawa, who held the position formally, tasked staff to give his successor all the support that was accorded to him during his tenure in the office. Also, he commending the officers of the zone for the support given to him in the period he led the zone, resulting in transformation of the zonal office.

He stated that under his chairmanship, the EFCC will ensure a proactive approach to the fight against corruption.

"Before the crime is committed, we are going to put in place measures that will help nip it in the bud, it's going to be the way to go," he said.

Earlier before the handover ceremony, the EFCC boss met with sectional/unit heads and all officers of the zone stressing them to be disciplined in their discharge of their duties. 

According to him, 

It is just natural, you can't be fighting corruption, and doing something different yourself at the same time. You must be above board at all times, and strive to be better always.

Furthermore, he expressed great optimism that the commission will succeed despite all the challenges and expectations.
