Intellectuals and geniuses are people who are possess brilliant and intelligent traits, they are viewed as such because of the vast knowledge they exhibit, their way of thought and doing things. These category of people are taken in high regard, respected, and looked up to in moments of difficulty or chaos. They are seen as being capable of handling every situation and any situation, and knowing what to do in other to put things in other.
For most people, being intellectual and being a genius are the same thing because they both possess the same kind of qualities which is as a result of their mind. This assertion is false because they might have the same quality in regards to knowledge but they don't have the same character and way of handling things.
According to the Longman English dictionary, Intellectuals are people who have the ability to understand things and think intelligently, they are serious minded individuals who spend time thinking about complicated issues and discussing it in other to find a solution. On the other hand, Geniuses are people who has a very high level of intelligence, mental skill, or ability, which only a few people have, they are regarded as unusual and special because of their special skill at doing something.
The difference between intellectuals and geniuses is that the former solve problems while the latter prevents them. Intellectuals like to keep their brain working, they like to think a lot before proffering any solution. As said in the aforementioned definition of intellectuals, they are serious minded people who spend time thinking about complicated issues and discuss it in other to find solutions - they are active thinkers.
A genius would rather prevent the problem than take the stress from waiting for it to happen before they solve the problem. These category of people see that a problem is going to occur and take action to prevent it from happening. For instance, a car is about getting fault - if it were the intellectuals, they would wait till it get faulty before fixing it, even when they might know the problem; but geniuses seeing and knowing that the car is about getting, they would get it fixed instantly.
Intellectuals take action in caution while Geniuses take action in precaution.
