Politicians are people in government who have been elected or chosen to rule and govern. By this, they are given the responsibility of working for the benefit and good of the people who elected and put them in office. This office comes with the power to fulfil their responsibilities.
Although, they are put into power by the public, the public still do not trust them because politicians are of the habit of putting their own self-interest before that of the public. The public have developed the mentally that politicians only care for what's best for them rather than that of the public; this has given the public, the mentally that all politicians are bad and the same, which is false.
Politicians are hated because they rarely have truth as an objective, their main motive is contesting election, winning election and having power. Many politicians lack the quality of truth, they make promises that cannot be fulfilled, say things that are far from the truth and give the public false hope. They tell lies for the sole aim of gaining power which they would end up using for their own benefit, their families, and put people in power to work for their own benefit.
Lack of truth in government leads to many vices, such as: corruption, godfatherism, insecurities, pollution, mistrust etc. It only brings ruin in the nation as well as the government and it's system.
Politics is more than just a game of winning elections and having power, it is about fulfilling the responsibilities that made you to be assigned into that office or position. This is the best way to play politics, by being an upholder of the truth and ensuring that the objectives of which you are brought to office are fulfilled, and ensuring that serving the public is your objective.
