BY MASTERPIECE DAVID OLAWADE
After days of sober reflections and personal evaluations on how I have been and how I engaged different moments of the year. I had memories of goals that I didn't accomplish, plans not executed and things I procrastinated.
At some point, I wasn't impressed about the outcomes and results thus far then came a rejoicing in my heart as I remembered the scriptures;
"In all things, give thanks"
"No one receives anything except it's given him from above"
"Not by power neither is it by might...
"The race is not for the swift neither the battle for the strong".
Then this morning an uninvited guest came visiting. Guess who it was, it was a strange thought that visited my mind bringing to my knowledge things I couldn't achieve and areas I didn't do up to my personal expectation.
I responded by saying; "abeg, I can't lose my peace because of that". I also reminded my guest about volumes of things I achieved this year that I didn't see myself getting through as I remained grateful to God.
If I'm asked what made me better and stronger this year, I will say "CHALLENGES". The challenges made me read more and I had more understanding about how to overcome them now, in the future and how to help others not to go through what I went through.
The challenges made me pray more because I saw a "ME" that could engage the realities of God more than the dimension I have seen over time. I prayed more because some inadequacies warranted more of my prayers and I was incapacitated in some situations that I knew would demand divine intervention.
The challenges made me meet folks that became brothers and sisters who stood with and by me in moments when I needed them.
Listen to me folks, I know you may not be where you desire to be this year but I'm certain that you are not where you used to be and I'm sure you have progressed from one level of understanding, patience and courage to another.
Don't substitute gratitude for complain in this season. Don't allow what God is yet to do in your life make you forget what He has done neither should you despise what He is doing in and with you at the moment.
You may be unemployed throughout the year or you started the year on a job and presently ending the year without a job, you survived the pressure thus far and I believe you have also built capacity on how to be a value on a job.
You may have experiences of having little financial capacity to empty pocket through the year but I'm sure that your head hasn't been empty. There are ideas that are at your disposal now that can get you out of that experience next year.
To those I have disappointed in one way or the other by the reason of how some areas of my life turned out to be this year, I'm sorry but I'm not discouraged. It only gets better as all things are working together for my good against all odds.
I have seen the future, I'm constrained by that which I have seen in visions and known by revelations. Progress beacons at us, purpose is calling our names and 2021 wants to host our anticipated turnarounds.
