Several people consider being wise as the same thing as being smart; although, these qualities are associated with the human mind, how they think, and how they act; there stands a difference to smartness and being wise. In relation to the mind, smartness is the quality of being intelligent or clever, to be able to learn and understand things quickly. On the other hand, being wise is the quality of being able to make good decisions and actions based on good judgement.
A smart man uses cleverness to learn things and acquire skills quickly in other to get what he or she wants, in the process of learning they make mistake, learn from it and never make such mistake again. A smart man is much adventurous than a wise man because he acts based on his intelligence and from it gains experience to deal with other problems, he takes steps based on the judgement of his intelligence.
While a wise man would rather learn from the experiences of a smart man, and use such experience to deal with such problem when it comes his way. He learns through the mistakes of the smart man and avoid the mistake altogether.
Though being smart and wise are different; a man can possess both quality and use it to his fullest advantage. A person with both qualities, has real power to succeed, manoeuvre, and overcome any obstacle that comes their way.
If you want to be any of them, be a wise person because you don't just have to learn from a smart person, you can learn through anybody from the mistakes they make and use it to know what to do when you find yourself in that situation.
