How to make people appreciate your leadership

It has been stated that leaders are not born but rather made due to certain qualities that they possess; these qualities could be from attitude, character, belief, experience in handling such cases, amongst others. They are person(s) who are put in charge to take control and lead.

Every good leader has their way of doing things depending on the situation and issue that is placed before them or they find themselves with. They try to make the most of every situation and do what they think/find best that would better the lifes of their followers as well as not have any/little drowning effect on their followers.

It is one thing to be a good leader and another thing for your leadership to be appreciated. Both are two different things and should be considered seriously most especially when making decisions in the most serious cases. As a leader, you serve everybody but can't serve everybody; what this implies is that generally speaking is that although a leader represent and serve the people, he can't please everybody that he serve. He either please the majority and less minority (vice versa) or pleases and displeases some of the people he serves (making the equation balanced).

But the main objective is to make them (followers) cherish and appreciate your work which could be tedious to achieve especially when dealing with mass number of people. It requires sacrifices, hardwork, determination, letting them know that they are first and you work for them as well as you know ur responsibility that was bestowed on him.

HOW

For them to appreciate your work, they first have to see your efforts (work) and know about it by keeping them informed. Keeping them informed happens through communication because the lack of it could create unnecessary misunderstanding when there should be none. Communication breaches many gap between leaders and followers as well as draw them together.

The most important thing that can make your leadership being appreciated is through the good and the bad times. The good and bad times is vital because it let's them to know and feel that you have them at heart. For instance; In good times, the people are put in front and you lead from behind but In bad times, you as the leader you take the front; then there is every reason to say that you (leader) would be appreciated.

But in instances where reverse is the case, there would be chaos and problems arriving because of the fact that the people who you meant to lead do not respect you because they know and feel that they are being cheated. Since during the good times, you (leader) kept them in hunger and during the bad times you neglected them.

Leaders should learn to understand that the leadership is a vice versa thing. The way you treat your followers is the way you will be treated, just the same as the way your followers perceive you is the way they will respond to you.

THINK ABOUT IT.
