How family problems starts?


According to Longman English dictionary, Family can be defined as a group of people who are related by each other, They are divided into nuclear and extended family; Nuclear family are the simplest type of family, they are made of father, mother and children while An extended family is more complex because they are not made of just father, mother and children, this type of family is large, making of grandfather, grandmother, fathers, mothers, aunties, uncles, cousins, children etc.

Families are royalties and are very important to an individual. For most people in the world, they belong  to or are born in a family, in which most often times they hold to heart depending on how they are treated. Individuals considers family an important aspect of their lives because of what they hold to them, it could be love, responsibilities, necessity etc.

In each type of family system, whether large or small is bound to have problem(s). These problems could be between/amongst family members and most often time results from minor problems, which if not properly handled can escalate into long term quarrels or becomes major problems.

The start of these family problem can be narrowed down to BAD COMMUNICATION. When families lack the ability to communicate effectively, it becomes a problem. This shows the lack of love, care, trust, honesty amongst others; Most of all it shows that someone is not listening.

Every member of the family wants to be heard, want to share opinion on matters even though it might not be accepted, want to feel that they are listened to, and most of importantly to know that they are important in the family. When reverse is the case, it generates problems between family members, making them stay apart or afar from each other.

Since communication is the process by which people exchange information or express their thought and feeling; Bad communication is when people exchange information or express their thoughts, and these thought are not listened to.

With this knowledge, We (individuals) should think of how we can breach the gap of communication by listening to the other party. Get close to your family
