THE GAP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND REALITY: YOU CAN'T WISH A MAN SO WELL THAN THE MAN HIMSELF MASTERPIECE DAVID OLAWADE
I was at a car park recently and I met a book vendor hawking books at the garage as he emphasized that readers are leaders. I tried to hear him out as I asked for a particular book which he didn't have. I checked through many of the books he had and I told him I have read many of them.
I wanted to be sure if he reads what he was marketing then I asked him about some of the books I had read as I initiated a conversation with him.
To my amazement, he had read many of the books he sells as I wondered why he was still stocked in being a book vendor hawking in the sun daily from one car park to another in the bid of making ends meet. I felt with the wealth of knowledge he has, he should have been a better person (depending on my own definition on being better anyways).
Have you ever come across folks in a newspaper vendor's kiosk discussing with wealth of knowledge about Politics, National economy, global trend and so on but you feel disappointed with their outlook and when you get to know that they are jobless as they roam the streets?
Is there that person you know that is very intelligent but you are amazed to know that such person is presently stranded in life?
Did you also read the book "Finishing Strong by Steven Farrar" and you were amazed at illustrations of the author that the best folks people used to know and most intelligent people are not the ones that eventually gets to stardom?
As it has often been said, knowing what to do is different from doing what you know. That people expect the best for you as you also do isn't the same as doing the best and being the best. Life won't give anyone what he deserves but what a man demands from life.
With my little experience in life, I have seen good people in bad conditions and situations they didn't bargain for. Not everyone that are struggling with life demands that don't have knowledge of how to be great.
There are folks with good visions, aspirations and enthusiasm but ended up finding themselves in a low state as they keep believing in the reality of their anticipated desires which some end up not seeing them come to past.
It is not everyone that gave up on a course that wasn't tolerant enough, some didn't have anything to hold on to at a particular moment when they needed to as they saw giving up as their last resort.
Don't laugh at any man who seems to be struggling with life's demands because he may have been better than you if he has same privileges and opportunities you have at his disposal.
Don't despise any man that is yet to give up because his anticipated turn around may be some moments away. Time and chance happen to them all says the Holy Book.
May God give us understanding, let us pray.
