Social distancing or purpose distancing? My answers to recent questions (BY MASTERPIECE DAVID OLAWADE)
Recently, someone reached me on recommendation as regards how to go about a research project. Our conversation started on the premise of how he was reluctant to believe I could put him through as he thought I wasn't knowledgeable to that regard.
To his amazement, I developed the study design for him and answered all the questions that has resulted in his delay as regards his postgraduate thesis.
He then said; "sir, I thought it is only bible that you know ooo". I sarcastically responded; "shebi it is bible college certificate you used to get a job in that reputable organization you're working".
Another folk asked me; "how have you been coping with ministerial demands, academic research, personal goals and personal development?".
I responded by saying; "I'm not COPING with any of these by His grace". A man only have to cope with what he is enduring and not what he is enjoying.
Some asked again; "what have you been doing during this COVID-19 pandemic?". I said; "I have been doing more of what I have been doing over time faster and more productive as this season has afforded me more time to explore".
When I hear folks ask me this common question; "how do you balance your life?". I start to wonder and ask them; "which part of a man's life have become so heavy and it starts pulling the others own?".
Simple momentary discipline scheme, getting one's priority right, commitment to personal development and responsibility to spiritual growth would make the life of a man always balanced without unnecessary burden.
Listen, the life of a lazy, indiscipline, idle and irresponsible person can never be balanced no matter how much he prays and get hands laid on him.
The revival many people need in a time like this is the revival of discipline, hard work, diligence and commitment to spiritual growth. If you lack all or any of these, no matter the online programmes you follow in this season, it won't suffice as it would be as though one is pouring water in a basket and expecting the basket to be full soon.
With my little knowledge over the years, I have realized that men of impact always have more to do as a reward for their momentary results and milestones. The reward for hard work has always been more work.
One of the reasons you are bored and idle momentarily is because progress is still your guest. Men of purpose who are aligned to God's will have made progress a lifetime company and relevance always demand to cohabit with them.
May it not be said of you that after this pandemic, you LOCKDOWN your destiny while others CHECKED-IN into their destinies by taking advantage of the season.
May God give us understanding.
