For a business venture to succeed in it's advertisement certain criteria needs to be met.
These four step process needs to be consider in creating an effective advert.
Step One
The advertiser: This is the business owner or organization that wants to create awareness about a product or service through advertisement. The advertiser is the main frame of an advertising process because he decides on the advert, the target audience, advert agency and budget to get the message across.
Step Two
Advert Agency: This is an organization that renders services of creating advert for the advertiser. The advertiser hire an advert agency to take part or full in the advert process. The advert agency plans the advertisement for the advertiser.
Step Three
The Media/Medium: After knowing the targeted audience, the next step is knowing the right medium/media to use in passing the advert message to the audience. The media is a very powerful tool in passing across message and information because it has vast number of people using it, such media could be newspaper, magazines, television, radio and the internet. These media have the capability of reaching large number of people, in the shortest time and cheaper.
Each media has advantage over each other, which can be used to the best knowledge of the advertiser depending on the targeted audience.
Step Four
Knowledge of the target audience: Before a business owner ventures into a business, he consider his customers for the product or service, this is known as his audience. Target audience in advertising are those people a business owner wants to reach out to about the product. It could be his already acquired customers, potential customers, non-active customers and general public.
Business owners in this regard are known as the advertisers, who advertises their products and services through various medium or using advert agencies. The advertiser must have adequate knowledge about the audience which the message(advert) is meant for. Knowing the audience would give the advertiser the knowledge of the best medium to communicate the message. For instance, the audience could be in the rural setting, which is known to be occupied by people with little literacy, such advertiser would have to find the right medium that they understand so as to pass the advertising message to his audience.
